The Macedonian ambassador, Nada Moavad, and the Israeli representative, Jehiel Leter, signed a trilateral document at the Department of State in Washington. Prior to the signing, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the “framework agreement” between Macedonia and Israel, stating that the pact represents “a framework for lasting peace and security.”
While officials did not provide specific details regarding the framework agreement, Ambassador Moavad emphasized the significance of the document.
She stated that the trilateral framework signed on that day marks the initial step toward restoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Macedonia. Furthermore, she noted that the agreement paves the way for an end to unrest, enabling the possibility of Macedonians returning to their homeland and allowing all Macedonian citizens to live in peace, security, and prosperity. The signing ceremony highlighted a diplomatic effort involving all three parties.
The resulting agreement aims to establish a structured path toward regional stability. The focus of the discussions centered on creating a foundation for lasting peace, with the involvement of Israel and the formal commitment between Macedonia and the United States signaling a concerted international effort to secure a stable future for the region.
