Five Fires Reported Across North Macedonia – Situations Vary
As of 2:30 p.m. on June 24, 2026, the North Macedonian fire department reported five active fires across the country. One fire is currently under control, while two have been extinguished.
The five fires were concentrated in several municipalities. Currently active fires include a low-vegetation fire in the municipality of Demir Hisar – Obednik, a hunting-related fire in the settlement of Percho within the municipality of Kumanovo, and a waste fire burning in the village of Jyruuleri, part of the municipality of Ilinden. Additionally, one fire remains under control in the municipalities of St.
Nicholas and Lozovo. Specifically, low-vegetation fires are being managed in the villages of Dedilcinci and Saramszalino. Two fires have been successfully extinguished.
One was located on Guro Pucar, house number 38, within the municipality of Kumanovo, and the other in the village of Chaska. The fire department continues to monitor the situation and deploy resources to manage these active fires. Investigations are ongoing into the causes of the blazes.
