PIOM Addresses Concerns Regarding 2024 Pension and Insurance Report
The Fund for Pensions and Disability Insurance of Macedonia (PIOM) has responded to recent concerns regarding the State Plant for Revision (DZR) report for 2024. The Fund clarified that the report, released by DZR, reflects the standard annual revision process mandated by law. This process involves a committee’s regular assessment of financial work, agreements with post-pact management and institutional funds.
Director Nikola Mevov of PIOM emphasized that the primary focus of the revision was the Fund’s performance throughout 2024. The DZR report highlighted significant outstanding debts totaling hundreds of millions of euros related to the second pension column managed by PIOM. Furthermore, the report indicated millions of euros remain unaddressed within the insurance sector overseen by the organization.
PIOM officials maintain that these figures represent ongoing assessments within the established revision framework. The annual report serves to transparently detail the Fund’s financial activity and adherence to legal requirements concerning pensions and insurance. The DZR’s findings are part of a continuous effort to ensure accountability and proper management of funds within the PIOM system.
