Three Wildfires Remain Active Across North Macedonia
As of 3:00 PM today, June 23, 2026, authorities were informed of five wildfires occurring across open land within the state of North Macedonia. Three of these fires remain active, while ten have been successfully extinguished. The fires are concentrated in several areas.
Currently active are blazes in the village of Petrich, characterized by the burning of low vegetation. Another active fire is located between the villages of Delytsintsi and Saramszalino, also involving low vegetation. A third active fire is situated in the village of Bogdanci – Stojakovo, similarly involving low vegetation.
Ten fires have been brought under control. Extinguished fires were reported in the Opština of Rankovce, impacting the village of Vrjogintsi, and in the Opština of Saraj, affecting the village of Grcec. Firefighting efforts are ongoing across the affected regions.
