Train Service Disruptions Planned in North Macedonia Until July
Service on several railway lines in North Macedonia will be temporarily disrupted due to ongoing construction of the “City Train” project. Effective Tuesday, June 22nd, 2026, train services will be suspended until July 1st, 2026. The disruption impacts routes originating from Veles, Gevgelija, and Bitola.
Specifically, no trains will operate from these locations until July 1st. Additionally, train service will be unavailable from Pancevo to Veles, Gevgelija, and Bitola. The Joint Action of Macedonian Railways – Infrastructure announced the changes on June 21st, 2026, at 8:06 a.m.
The cessation of service is necessary for the construction project, which includes stops for passenger trains on the Pancevo-Gevgelija route 611 (06.20) and 631 (16.55) and at Gevgelija. Passengers relying on these routes are advised to seek alternative transportation options during this period. The disruption is scheduled to conclude on July 1st, 2026.
