RKE Official Proposes Innovative Approach to Energy Investment

Aco Ristov, President of the Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water Services and Management Services for Municipal Waste (RKE), presented a novel approach to energy investment during the “Energy Transition, CBAM and the initiative of the Macedonian industry” event organized by Fajn’s tin. Ristov emphasized that energy is not only a resource for the state, advocating for broader accessibility. His proposal centered on utilizing investment funds differently than traditional methods.

Instead of investing in concrete and iron structures, Ristov suggested exploring opportunities for citizen participation in the construction of the HEC Cetren project. He proposed a model where individuals could invest in shares, financed by the construction itself, offering an alternative to purchasing real estate. “The possibility to study in the construction of the HEC Cetren – said Ristov – is a key consideration when realizing strategic objectives.” Ristov highlighted the potential for a joint-stock company structure, allowing citizens to become shareholders and contribute directly to energy infrastructure development.

The discussion focused on transitioning energy resources and the impact of CBAM on the Macedonian industry.
