EUME and World Bank Sign Grant Agreement for “REK Bitola 1” Cogeneration Plant
The EUME and the World Bank have signed an agreement for a grant supporting the preparation activities for the “REK Bitola 1” cogeneration plant. The agreement, totaling $2.4 million, was finalized on June 16, 2026, at 17:24 in the premises of Vlatadon. Present at the signing were EUME General Director Lazo Uzunchev and World Bank Kosovo and Macedonia Manager Karol Medevan.
The initiative represents a significant investment within the broader process of energy transmission and modernization of the domestic energy sector. The agreement formalizes continued collaboration between the two organizations. Uzunchev and Medevan highlighted the importance of this project in advancing energy sector improvements.
