Woman Detained Following Alleged Assault on Three-Month-Old Baby in Tetovo
Tetovo, North Macedonia – Police detained two individuals, V.M. (42) from Prilep and B.S. (37) from Istotsko, following reports of an incident involving a three-month-old baby.
The initial report, made to authorities on June 15, 2026, at 13:01, detailed observations of a woman mistreating and trampling a young child in Tetovo. Witnesses had previously alerted police to the woman’s behavior, leading to her intervention and subsequent notification to law enforcement. The incident, which gained traction on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and local print media, prompted a swift response.
Officers from the Tetovo and Gruzhin police stations apprehended V.M. at 17:20 on June 14th and B.S. at 18:30 from the villages of Sarajino and Istotsko, respectively.
Information released by the SRS Tetovo indicated that V.M. had been observed by a passerby physically mistreating and trampling the three-month-old infant around 15:30 prior to the formal report. Investigations are ongoing.
