The money is being put up for open tenders to open the door to trust in the ambassadors

Efforts Underway to Restore Trust in Assembly and Ambassadorial Role

The establishment of a specific position aims to foster open communication and rebuild trust within the Macedonian system, according to statements from Assembly President Afrim Gash. Gash emphasized the importance of this initiative for the Assembly, the institution of ambassadors, and citizens alike. Speaking on the matter, Gash highlighted the need to elevate the standing of the Assembly, particularly in light of ongoing concerns regarding public trust.

Data from the Institute for Democracy indicates a consistently low level of trust within the Assembly, currently at 2.7% annually. Furthermore, anxieties exist that ambassadors are frequently influenced by partisan interests rather than prioritizing the needs of the citizenry. Gash stated that the newly created position is intended to operate at a respectable level, devoid of any personal benefit.

He acknowledged the necessity of addressing the current challenges and suggested prioritizing improved perceptions, alongside potential changes to the electoral system. The goal is to facilitate open dialogue and ultimately strengthen the relationship between the assembly and its constituents, fostering greater trust within the institution.
