Macedonian text: Discovery: Two cancer drugs have been approved for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease Scientists have discovered that two drugs, which have been approved for the treatment of cancer, could repair some changes in the brain caused by Alzheimer’s disease. The first drug is called LY294002, which is used to treat cancer of the kidney, and the second drug is called Irinotecan, which is used to treat cancer of the large intestine and the lungs. The two drugs have been approved for use in the United States, and potential clinical trials for the use of these drugs in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease could begin much sooner, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
