Macedonia’s Prime Minister Addresses Brussels Process Concerns at Joint Press Conference
TIVAT, Montenegro – Prime Minister Christian Mitkoski participated in a joint press conference following a meeting on the Samot E-West Balkan peninsula in Tivat. During the event, Mitkoski responded to questions regarding the evolving status of the Brussels process. The inquiry stemmed from yesterday’s meeting with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, who reiterated the conditions established in 2022 for potential advancement.
Mitkoski stated that a sincere working relationship has been established with Costa. Specifically addressing the matter of a potential shift in the status of the Vlada, Mitkoski affirmed that the government does not agree to any changes, particularly on this issue. He emphasized that the state’s status is not influenced by political pressure or agreements.
“Not the price that I will be held responsible as Prime Minister of Vlada,” Mitkoski stated, suggesting that external factors are not driving the government’s approach. The Prime Minister indicated that the government’s position is based on a clear understanding of the conditions being presented. He underscored the importance of maintaining a stable and independent path forward, free from undue influence.
