Karpoš Mayor and Director Among Suspects in Corruption Investigation

Karpoš, North Macedonia – The mayor of Karpoš and Stefan Bogev, a wounded director of Tsarina, alongside three other individuals, have been designated as suspects in a significant corruption investigation. The investigation centers around allegedly fraudulent activities related to a tender for cleaning and dismantling border crossings and terminals, estimated to cost 20 million dinars, initiated in 2023. Currently, the individuals involved are being held in police custody as authorities continue their investigation.

Confirmation of the tax implications is being conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office for the fight against organized crime and corruption, alongside the Finance Police Authority. However, specific details regarding the case remain limited. Further information concerning the investigation is expected to be released tomorrow.

The scope of the investigation includes the procurement process for the border and terminal services. Stefan Bogev’s injury is reportedly connected to the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
