Artim Islam and Feuzije Dzaferi are proposed as a new member of the Supreme Council, which is elected by the Assembly

Assembly Proposes Six Candidates for Supreme Council Membership

The Assembly convened on June 2, 2026, at 15:56 to consider candidates for membership on the Supreme Council. Following the meeting, the Assembly informed the President of the Elections and Appointment Commission of its selection of ten candidates. Artim Islam, a lawyer qualified from Struga, and Feuzije Dajferi, a lawyer qualified from the village of Gostivar, were among those nominated by the Assembly.

However, the Commission for the selection subsequently determined that three of the initial candidates did not fulfill the necessary criteria for Supreme Council membership. This review resulted in a reduction of the candidate pool to six. The Assembly now recommends Artim Islam and Feuzije Dajferi for consideration.

The next steps will involve the Elections and Appointment Commission’s evaluation of the remaining candidates. The Assembly’s decision reflects its ongoing role in the appointment of key figures within the governing structure. Further details regarding the selection process will be released following the Commission’s assessment.
