Skopje to Receive €350 Million for Infrastructure Development
Skopje municipalities will receive a significant investment of €350 million over the next two years as part of a coordinated effort between the Ministry of Transport and the Municipality of Skopje. This funding, announced during a meeting with World Bank representatives, will be allocated to the development and implementation of local infrastructure projects. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport Aleksandar Nikolovski highlighted the initiative, stating that the Ministry and the World Bank are collaborating on a project focused on the development and rehabilitation of local streets within the municipalities.
Two calls for proposals have been established, totaling €350 million, with one occurring in 2024 and the other in 2025. This investment represents a substantial commitment to improving transport infrastructure. When combined with ongoing World Bank-supported projects, the total investment over the two-year period is expected to exceed €350 million.
The projects aim to bolster local development and enhance transportation networks throughout the municipalities. The initiative underscores a strategic focus on modernizing transport systems and supporting economic growth within the region.
