The team of the Brigade of the Yugoslav-European Region completed the mission in Macedonia

The Brigade Command of the Southeast Europe (SEEBRIG) has formally concluded its six-year operational tenure in Macedonia. Following the conclusion of this significant period, the unit will continue its collaborative efforts in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, operating under a rotational framework. A ceremony was held at the “Boromov” barracks in Kumanovo to mark the transition.

During the event, the Minister for Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, addressed attendees, acknowledging the service rendered throughout the six-year mandate. He emphasized that Macedonia’s participation demonstrated the nation’s commitment to fostering regional and international peace and security, thereby establishing the country as a credible, secure, and active partner in the region. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking military officials, including the Chief of General Staff of the Army, General Major Sasho Laftiški.

Representatives from the member countries participating in the Process for the Resolution of the Ministers for Defense of Southeast Europe (SEDM), members of the military-diplomatic corps, and personnel from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Macedonia were also present. The successful completion of the SEEBRIG’s mission underscores the sustained commitment of the region’s defense partners. The transition ensures that the cooperative security framework remains active, with the continued engagement in Turkey maintaining the institutional momentum built over the past six years.
