The queen has been accused of burning 120 kilograms of tobacco for a narghileh

Customs officials at the “Blace” border crossing, upon entry into the country, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 120 kilograms of shisha tobacco, valued at 384,000 Macedonian denars, intended for sale on the domestic market. The Tax Administration announced this on March 12, 2026, at 11:47 AM. The queen of the operation, identified as F.B., a Macedonian citizen, is now accused of engaging in illicit trade.

Following the interception, the Investigation Department filed a criminal complaint for the offense of smuggling. This action prevented an illegal trade of a taxable good. Authorities successfully avoided the payment of excise taxes totaling 744,000 denars, with 342,000 denars specifically related to excise duty.

The attempt to burn this quantity of tobacco for illicit sale was successfully stopped. The Tax Administration emphasized the importance of these ongoing efforts to combat smuggling activities.
