Over the last ten days, Macedonian drivers have committed a significant number of traffic infractions. Police conducted regular stop-and-go checks across the country, resulting in 6,264 violations of movement regulations. Consequently, 151 individuals faced the loss of their driving privileges due to their unlawful operation of a vehicle.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that from March 1st to March 10th, these controls yielded a total of 6,264 fines. Specifically, 1,800 instances of drivers failing to maintain the designated speed limits were recorded. Furthermore, 151 drivers were temporarily prohibited from driving, with the reasons including unlawful vehicle operation.
Additional offenses accounted for were 32 instances of driving while intoxicated, one case of exceeding permitted passenger capacity, and three instances of exceeding permitted vehicle weight limits. A further 50 drivers were penalized for exceeding the allowed number of passengers on overland journeys. These actions demonstrate a continued focus on road safety and adherence to traffic laws by Macedonian drivers.
