During a session of the Assembly, remarks concerning hatred were made by representatives from the SDSM. Mitar Trajčulevski, an SDSM envoy, stated that, in the capacity of a minister, the “Serbian world” had secured a governor in 80 Macedonian provinces. Prime Minister Christian Mitzkoiski addressed the matter by questioning the opposition’s previous conduct.
He questioned whether they objected to Stoilkovic when he was asked to vote on the name change. Mitzkoiski also questioned if they objected when efforts were made to persuade him regarding the name change. He specifically asked if Ivan Stoilkovic was not objected to, and whether they did not object when efforts were made in Skopje and Kumanovo to urge him to vote for the name change.
He concluded by stating that a person of character and dignity would act accordingly. Mitzkoiski further noted that, in addition to the pressure exerted by the SDSM, Ivan Stoilkovic of the DPSM did not vote for the change of the official name Macedonia in the North. The exchange highlighted differing political views regarding the proposed name change and the perceived actions of key political figures.
