GROWING ON THE WALLS – reached 49,544 denars

According to the most recent data released by the State Statistics Institute, the land tax levy in Macedonia for May 2026 has reached 49,544 denars. The Institute reported that the rate of land tax increase for the month stood at 8.2 percent, marking a notable rise compared to the 1.6 percent increase recorded in April. The State Statistics Institute attributed the overall annual increase to a higher volume of operational work performed, which consequently resulted in increased tax payments across various sectors.

Sectoral analysis revealed significant growth areas contributing to the overall revenue. The most substantial increase was observed within the “Water supply; wastewater disposal, waste management and environmental sanitation” sector, which reported an 11.9 percent increase in payments. Following this, the “Skills, leisure and recreation” sector saw an 11.3 percent increase, while the “Transport and storage” sector also recorded an 11.3 percent increase.

These figures provide a detailed snapshot of the current economic activity reflected in the taxation structure. The data suggests that sectors related to essential services and leisure activities are experiencing notable levels of expansion, driving the overall upward trend in land tax revenue for the period. The Institute continues to monitor these trends to provide comprehensive economic insights to the public and governing bodies.
