Fecal bacteria were found in two examples of water in the guesthouse

An unofficial report issued by the Institute for Public Health indicates potential contamination within the municipal water supply system in Gościwary. The preliminary findings suggest that four tested samples contained fecal coliform bacteria, and an additional sample was found to contain chlorine. Until these results are officially confirmed, the findings raise concerns regarding serious pollution levels within the local water infrastructure.

In response to the potential contamination, relevant institutions have initiated comprehensive testing focused on the presence of fecal pollution within the entire water supply network. This assessment has prompted the immediate measure of additional chlorination to mitigate risks. The Institute for Public Health has formally submitted its findings to the prosecutor’s office, which is overseeing the investigation.

As a result of these developments, disciplinary action has been taken locally. The director and management staff of the “Komunalec” company have been suspended. Furthermore, three individuals associated with the “Komunalec” company have been named in the first indictment related to the incident.

The ongoing investigation aims to determine the source and scope of the contamination threat to the public water supply.
