The local sheriff’s office was notified regarding an incident in Ashburn, Virginia, during the evening hours, wherein a police officer was reportedly observed in the act of committing a crime inside a private residence. During the incident, 57-year-old Mia Bieniemi sustained over a dozen bullet wounds and was transported to the hospital. She has since been given first aid and is reported to be in stable condition.
In connection with the events, authorities initially took into custody Elajdzha Zajan Bieniemi. He is suspected of committing a violent crime and using firearms in connection with an act initially classified as non-violent. Separately, information was provided to the club regarding the whereabouts of trainer Eric Bieniemi.
He was reported to be in a training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, and was therefore not present for the scheduled Monday training session. The incident involving the suspected criminal activity remains under investigation by law enforcement.
