MORBILITES RETURN TO THE GARDEN: Two victims, the most affected in the last 30 years

Measles is reportedly re-spreading in the United States, following the deaths of two individuals in Pennsylvania. These fatalities mark the first recorded deaths from measles in the country this year. The two deceased were unvaccinated and resided in Lancaster County, an area where the USDA has reported the highest number of measles cases in over three decades.

This increase in cases is linked to a decline in vaccination rates. The fatal instances occurred approximately two weeks after Donald Trump presented a final regulation concerning the combined measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. During that presentation, Trump criticized the combined vaccine and advocated for separating the long-standing MMR vaccine, which provides 97 percent protection against measles, into three individual vaccines.

Contrary to established scientific evidence and testimonies regarding the vaccine’s proven safety and efficacy, Trump stated that the MMR vaccine was unnecessary.
