An incident involving a wild animal near Punta Pizzo, a popular tourist location near Gallipoli, Italy, occurred when a German tourist and a 12-year-old girl were attacked. The confrontation drew the attention of a local resident, 47-year-old Italian man, Dominico Capriolo. Initially, Capriolo attempted to defend himself and the group by striking the animal with his bare fists. After this initial effort, he secured the help of a horse and a mule, which he utilized to successfully scare and ultimately subdue the wild animal.
Following the attack, all three individuals—the German tourist, the girl, and her mother—were transported to the hospital due to various injuries sustained to their hands, feet, and back. Capriolo himself sustained serious injuries during the ordeal. Authorities confirmed that the animal, which was mistaken for a wolf, was neutralized by Capriolo’s intervention.
