Iran has called for the most serious sanctions to be imposed on the regime so far: we will not respond in a hurry

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced on Monday that he will detail new economic measures targeting Iran. He described the upcoming sanctions as “the most severe sanctions in history.” These measures are intended to economically isolate Iran, including the imposition of a blockade on any lands or companies found continuing to work with Tehran.

The announcement follows previous warnings from Donald Trump, the SAJ President, who cautioned that certain entities supporting Iran would face serious economic consequences. In response to the escalating tensions, Generalmajor Ali Abdoulahhi of the Iranian Armed Forces stated that Iran’s response would be decisive. He indicated that the Iranian forces are prepared for comprehensive countermeasures, encompassing capabilities in land, sea, air, air defense, and space domains.

The proposed sanctions are designed to exert maximum pressure on Iran. The U.S. Treasury Secretary called the measures necessary to curb activities supporting the Iranian regime.

The scope of the penalties suggests a broad effort to restrict international engagement with Iran’s economic infrastructure.
