Meteorologists reported the presence of two tornadoes along the southern coastal areas spanning Queens, New York, and Nassau County on Long Island. Experts noted that these rotating columns of air and moisture were tracking inland, with potential for intensification. One of the significant weather events occurred in Queens, specifically impacting the Rockaway area situated south of John F.

Kennedy International Airport. Meanwhile, the second tornado affected Long Island, causing localized damage to property. The impact on Nassau County was substantial.

Debris resulting from the tornado damaged numerous cabins and structures, leading to the temporary closure of the Long Island Sun and Surf Beach Club in Atlantic Beach. This incident also necessitated a temporary suspension of the club’s social media presence. Reports indicated that approximately 50 cabins sustained damage, alongside impacts to roofs and sheds.

Furthermore, one individual was reported to have suffered a head injury due to the severe weather.
