During a conference, the Minister of Health, Sašo Klepovski, identified several dangerous breeding sites within populated areas. A primary concern highlighted was the presence of septic tanks.
The combination of stagnant water and high levels of organic matter in these areas poses a significant risk for the development of infected insects. Furthermore, old tires were identified as another critical breeding ground. The stagnant water collected in ditches within these tires provides ideal and concealed environments for mosquitoes to breed and lay eggs.
Additionally, the report noted that water-filled holes in the sand present a direct threat to the potential spread of disease. These findings underscore the importance of public awareness regarding environmental sanitation. The warnings serve to educate citizens on minimizing risks associated with mosquito populations and protecting community health.
