Conor Kennedy, son of former US Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy, is currently detained in a Russian international facility. According to The Telegraph, Kennedy left Ukraine in 2022 and subsequently joined the International Legion supporting the Ukrainian Army.
A Moscow court approved his extradition on August 12, classifying him as a payee of the Russian army. The court had previously indicated that he could face a prison sentence ranging from 10 to 15 years. Despite the court’s decision, reports indicate that Kennedy entered the conflict without prior military training.
His departure from Ukraine was marked by his separation from family members in the northern regions, after which he enlisted with the International Legion. Kennedy served on the northeast front for approximately two and a half months, an area that saw involvement from United States personnel. The legal proceedings involving Kennedy have centered on his status within the conflict zone, resulting in his detention in the Russian facility.
