FOUR FRONTS, ONE GREAT FIREBREAK: The flames of Chaništa are spreading, more and more firefighters are joining the firefighting effort

The fire situation remains active in the village of Čaništa, which is currently experiencing the largest recorded fire incident in the country to date. Multiple teams from the local fire department, supplemented by additional resources from the Kičevo fire brigade, are engaged in efforts to control the blaze. Reports indicate that firefighting teams are continuing to struggle with the fire, which is reportedly moving through the night in the area belonging to the municipality of Prilep.

In a separate update provided by the Center for Crisis Management (CUK) during the morning briefing, authorities reported on the national tally of incidents. Over the past 24 hours, a total of 37 separate fire incidents were recorded across the country’s territory. Of these reports, five fires remain active at this time.

Furthermore, one fire is currently reported as being under control, while the remaining 31 incidents have been successfully extinguished. Emergency services are deploying substantial resources to manage the ongoing crisis in Čaništa. Officials confirmed that efforts to contain the blaze are ongoing, with specialized units working to ensure the safety of the community.

The deployment of additional personnel and equipment underscores the severity of the current fire. Authorities are advising the public to remain vigilant and follow instructions from local emergency management teams for any further information regarding the spread or management of the fire.
