Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will not commence the new Ligue 1 season at the Parc des Princes as initially scheduled. Following an inspection, authorities determined that the condition of the terrain in Paris does not guarantee player safety. The scheduled non-action for the team was set for August 23 at 20:45 local time in Paris.
However, due to the poor state of the playing surface, the French Professional Football League (LFP) mandated a change of venue for the match. PSG had previously alerted the League on August 17 regarding the issues observed with the terrain at the Parc des Princes. This development means that PSG’s opening fixtures of the season will take place at an alternate location rather than their customary home ground.
The League’s decision prioritizes player welfare by ensuring that the playing surface meets necessary safety standards before competitive matches resume. This operational adjustment affects the start of the league campaign for PSG.
