VIDEO | “MACEDONIA IS REFORMING WITH REGIONAL AND STANDING ENERGY STATIONS ON THE BALKAN”, great Petkova

Angelinka Petkova, an envoy from VMRO-DPMNE, has emphasized the significant economic potential derived from Macedonia’s strategic geographical positioning. She argued that the nation’s location presents a key opportunity for substantial development, particularly through investments in infrastructure and the transition toward sustainable energy sources. Petkova highlighted that despite being a landlocked nation, Macedonia occupies a central position within the Balkans.

Crucially, the country sits at the intersection of two vital European transport arteries: Corridor 8 and Corridor 10. According to Petkova, this unique confluence of routes gives Macedonia a distinct advantage in regional commerce and connectivity. She stated that capitalizing on this inherent advantage is essential for national economic growth.

The focus, she asserted, must be on leveraging the modernization of the energy sector alongside major infrastructure upgrades. These targeted investments, she suggested, are poised to transform Macedonia into a significant regional hub. By developing its capacity to facilitate energy exchange and transport links, the country can maximize its role within broader European supply chains.

This strategic focus on both energy resilience and physical infrastructure is viewed by proponents as the primary catalyst for future economic expansion in the region.
