Firefighters and residents of Zeleniko village saved a house from fire last night, six fires were active in the morning

The Mayor of the Municipality of Probištip, Kostan Manevski, and local volunteers at the Probištip fire station responded to a significant nighttime fire that threatened residential properties in the village. As the incident escalated, firefighters from Skopje arrived on the scene to assist with extinguishing the blaze. Prior to the arrival of external support, local residents demonstrated proactive measures in the effort to contain the fire.

The community had constructed a fire prevention shelter using vegetable seeds, which helped firefighters prevent the flames from spreading to the initial houses. Stojanče Angelov, Director of the Department for Fire and Salvation, provided details regarding the response timeline. He stated that the call for firefighting assistance from Probištip reached his department at sunrise, with fire trucks dispatched from the Drače station within two hours.

Mr. Angelov expressed profound gratitude to the volunteer firefighters of Probištip, emphasizing that their immediate efforts were crucial to successfully controlling the fire. The coordination between the local volunteer force and the arriving professional firefighters was central to mitigating the damage.
