According to the latest bulletin detailing the movement of acute infectious diseases for July, 11 new cases of HIV/AIDS were reported. These recent figures indicated that the infections were distributed among several demographic groups, including nine cases among individuals of Macedonian origin, two cases among women aged 20-49, and two cases among people aged 30-49. The bulletin also provided an overview of the cumulative burden of the disease.
For the period spanning 1987 to 2026, the total registered cases of HIV/AIDS in the Republic of Macedonia reached 765. The current status breakdown detailed in the report shows that 141 individuals have been recorded as deceased, 508 persons are currently living with HIV/AIDS, and 116 individuals are considered lost to follow-up. In addition to HIV/AIDS monitoring, the report tracked other sexually transmitted and blood-transmitted infections for the month of July.
Specific data revealed 7 cases of syphilis, 4 cases of viral hepatitis B, one case of chlamydia, and one case of viral hepatitis C.
