A recent incident near the Skito river resulted in a reported drowning tragedy. According to the Delaware sheriff’s office, the event took place late in the evening near the O’Shogness reservoir, approximately 16 kilometers northwest of Columbus, Ohio. The incident involved a group of at least seven individuals, including two men, a young man, and two children, who were situated near the riverbank.

Sheriff Jere Freebairn provided details regarding the sequence of events. He stated that some members of the group were engaged in fishing activities when an older individual entered the water to swim. Subsequently, a child fell into the river, which led to the overturning of a vehicle.

According to the sheriff, efforts to rescue those involved were complicated. Freebairn reported that two adult men initially attempted to provide assistance, but they themselves began to succumb to the water. Further attempts by other adults to save the trapped individuals proved fatal for the rescuers as well.

The investigation details the difficult circumstances surrounding the group’s time near the water’s edge. Authorities are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the tragedy to determine the precise sequence of events that led to multiple drownings. The sheriff’s office confirmed that local emergency services were dispatched to the site following reports of the incident on the river.
