Investigation into poisonous water in Gostivar: The director of Komunalec and two Rako vodovod directors are in court

Three individuals have been indicted in the Istriaga following proceedings related to the manipulation of drinking water sources in Gošter village. This action follows the establishment of the primary court in Gošter and the issuance of a preliminary verdict concerning the Istriaga regarding the wells, environmental damage, and the management of local water resources. The accused were brought before the court of first instance in the Istriaga.

Among the indicted are the executor of the director of JPA “Komunalec” – Gošter, Arta Nasi, the technical director Leon Mesini, and the executor of the Department of Water Supply, Sewerage and Construction, Vadedin Dauti. According to the Prosecution, the indicted parties are charged as co-authors for an incident that occurred on June 25th. The charge alleges that the accused were responsible for installing three flood pumps within a canal.

These pumps utilized overflow water originating from the spillway located near the main water system’s spillway. The legal proceedings focus on the alleged unauthorized use and diversion of communal water resources, drawing the attention of the court to potential environmental harm. The indictment suggests a systemic failure or illegal intervention in the infrastructure designed to manage the village’s potable water supply, necessitating a judicial review of the activities within the Istriaga jurisdiction.

The case highlights ongoing disputes regarding the proper management and protection of local water infrastructure.
