In Uganda, over 20 children were killed in shocking bus accident (VIDEO)

An investigation into a recent transportation accident has revealed multiple critical safety failures, raising serious concerns regarding public transport standards. Reports indicate that the incident involved a large passenger bus and resulted in injuries to numerous individuals, including workers and, critically, several children. Preliminary pre-trial investigations suggest that the bus was operating with pre-existing mechanical defects, which contributed to the driver losing control while en route to a farm near Čekavitić.

Furthermore, questions have been raised regarding the vehicle’s capacity and maintenance. Eyewitness accounts and findings noted that the tires were severely worn, exposing internal steel wiring. A major point of concern is the reported overloading of the bus.

While the vehicle is licensed to transport 64 passengers, it was reportedly carrying 80 individuals. The safety of children traveling on such an overloaded and mechanically compromised bus is a paramount public safety issue. Experts suggest that such severe incidents, which leave vulnerable populations, including children, without adequate care or safe passage, are often preventable.

The findings underscore the necessity for rigorous enforcement of traffic laws and mandatory vehicle inspections to ensure that public transit remains safe for all passengers.
