The piece titled “Pehrot na pobeditelite” was created to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Kaliningrad Region. This significant artwork, which exceeds one meter in height and weighs over 30 kilograms, is constructed from a rare Baltic textile known as a pezhazhen carpet. The object is slated to become a permanent part of the museum’s collection at the factory.
The creation of this monumental piece required the dedicated effort of ten masters, who worked on the project over a period of four months. Support for its development was provided through donations from various business representatives. The design features intricate carpet sculptures alongside two hand-embroidered icons; one of these icons is dedicated to St.
George the Victorious, a figure symbolizing honor, bravery, and the triumph of good over evil. This new creation successfully surpassed the previous record held by the company. The record was previously set by the “Abundance” carpet, which was made in 1954 for the Sessionna zemzdelna izlozhba in Moscow and measured 1.5 meters in height.
The sheer scale and craftsmanship of “Pehrot na pobeditelite” highlight the region’s artistic heritage, showcasing the exceptional skill involved in creating such large-scale textile art.
