Online transactions in Macedonia reached 266 million euros in the first quarter of 2026

According to the latest data released by the NBSSM regarding e-commerce activity (excluding electronic money transactions), the total value of online transactions in the first quarter of 2026 reached 16,355.96 million dinars, equivalent to 265.95 million euros. This figure represents an 18.1% growth compared to the previous year. This aggregate value encompasses several components, including online purchases of Macedonian currency made by both domestic and foreign e-providers, as well as expenditures by Macedonian e-traders on foreign currency.

Focusing specifically on the segment involving Macedonian e-traders, their online transactions totaled 9,608.64 million dinars, or 156.24 million euros, during the first quarter of 2026. This segment also demonstrated a consistent annual increase of 18.1%. The data provides a detailed overview of the flow of funds within the digital economy, tracking the volume and growth trajectory of various e-commerce activities.

The figures underscore the expanding scale of both domestic and international participation in digital financial transactions.
