“Preko eзеро” with premier projections of the Iranian film “Koccarot” and the short films “Mrtvi koranja” and “T.L.S.M.”

The short film, “Mrtvi koraci,” directed by Megdlen Anjic Trpkov, is set to premiere at the “Preko eзеро” festival in Dojran. During a press conference, Trpkov addressed various aspects of the production, including the thematic inspiration, the actors’ methods, and the specific choices made in the cinematography and shot composition. The director explained that the genesis of the narrative was drawn from the life story of Siljan Štrkoti, which resonated deeply with his own personal journey.

Trpkov shared that he was born in Macedonia, spent a brief period living there, and has resided in Holland for the past fifteen years. He noted that this background allowed him to connect with the story on a personal level, while the cinematography provided a distinct, almost magical quality to the visuals. The structure of the film intentionally juxtaposes different geographical settings.

The urban sequences were filmed in Holland, contrasting sharply with the rural scenes captured in Macedonia. According to Trpkov, the entire cinematic endeavor is rooted in the enduring desire to return home. The central theme of this evocative short film is depicted through a journey heading toward the coast.

The festival presentation marks a significant viewing opportunity for this personal and geographically rich film.
