„Zver“ from France is getting ready for the Kina: Two million evacuated (VIDEO)

Typhoon Bavi weakened over the tropical storm to a tropical storm by Sunday morning while moving inland. However, meteorologists warned that the system, which has the size of France, could bring prolonged and heavy rainfall across eastern and northern China in the coming days, according to Reuters. Approximately two million people were evacuated ahead of Bavi’s arrival, primarily in the Zhejiang province, an economic and technological hub in China.

As the typhoon made landfall, massive waves topping 10 meters (33 feet) battered the Zhejiang coast. Bavi struck the coastal city of Yuhuang in Zhejiang around 11:20 PM local time. While the immediate threat from the typhoon passed, meteorological advisories suggest continued rainfall impacts.

The scale of the weather system, comparable to the size of France, necessitates caution across eastern and northern regions. Residents are advised to monitor official forecasts regarding potential flooding and heavy downpours, ensuring preparedness as the weather pattern continues getting settled. The sheer force of the storm, described by some as a powerful zver, impacted coastal infrastructure, highlighting the need for sustained vigilance from local authorities.
