CU: 16 fires were extinguished in one day, one is under control

According to the Central Office for Crisis Management (ЦУК), a report issued on July 5, 2026, at 9:38 a.m., detailed the status of open-air fires across the state’s territory. The report indicated that a total of 17 open-air fires were recorded over the preceding day. Of these incidents, authorities confirmed that one fire remained under official control, while a total of 16 fires were successfully extinguished.

The extinguishing efforts covered several municipalities and villages. In the Opština of Makedonski Brod, fires were addressed in the village of Bele, where the burning material consisted of beech wood and low vegetation. Further actions were taken in the Opština of Ѓорче Петров.

Here, multiple locations were affected, including the villages of Kučkovo, Črkvino, Negotin, Črveni Breg, and Stočak. In these areas, the fires were reported as burning through low and degraded vegetation. Additionally, the efforts to control the blazes extended to the region of Strumica, where fires were also successfully extinguished.

The continuous monitoring and response highlight the coordinated efforts of emergency services in managing the spread of these open-air fires. The data provided by ЦУК confirms that significant action was taken to contain the incidents, resulting in sixteen fires being extinguished and one remaining under observation.
