The opening of a new exhibition took place in Sofia, marked by the presence of the director of the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center and diplomat advisor, Prof. Dr. Zoran Peikovski.
During his address, Peikovski emphasized the critical role of consistently promoting contemporary Macedonian talent beyond national borders. He stated that the Center in Sofia is committed to supporting local authors and facilitating the presentation of emerging creativity to the international public, thereby contributing to a cultural revival and strengthening cultural diplomacy. The exhibition itself showcased twenty-one distinct works by the artist David Atanasovski.
These pieces are notable for their unique visual approach, consisting of collages derived from photographs of previously constructed cardboard objects. Atanasovski’s method involved transforming existing sculptural forms into a new two-dimensional medium. The event highlighted the Center’s ongoing mission to bridge Macedonian artistic output with global audiences.
By presenting this collection, the Center continues its work to foster cultural exchange and visibility. The display serves as a platform, allowing the international community to engage with the depth and innovation present within contemporary Macedonian art while solidifying Sofia’s role as a hub for cultural dialogue.
