Toshkovski: MACEDONIA HAS A LOWEST NUMBER OF CRIMINALITIES IN THE LAST 20 YEARS

The Republic of Macedonia has recently reported a significant trend in its crime statistics, despite facing elevated crime levels over the past two decades. According to official reports, the country has seen a marked improvement in its crime management over the last two years. Minister of Internal Affairs, Pančo Todžkovski, confirmed these positive developments in a financial report detailing the police force’s efforts.

He stated that the department has achieved a 69% increase in operational effectiveness, coupled with a noticeable reduction in the number of apprehended perpetrators. These outcomes, according to the Minister, are attributed to the commitment of law enforcement officers, enhanced inter-agency coordination, and prompt field operations. A primary focus of these efforts has been combating organized crime.

Authorities report that there are over 30 organized criminal groups operating across various sectors within Macedonia. These activities span illicit trade in narcotics, instances of corruption, and the smuggling of migrants. The recent operational success highlights a concerted effort by state institutions to dismantle these criminal networks.

The data presented suggests a shift toward more effective policing strategies over the past years. The continuous work detailed by the Ministry aims to maintain this downward trend in crime rates and mitigate the threat posed by sophisticated organized criminal elements operating within the country.
