Vlasotince Municipality Refuses to Acknowledge Vichy Court Decision Regarding Ilovica Concession
The Vlasotince municipality, known as Vlatadon, has stated it is not acknowledging a recent decision by the Vichy administrative court concerning the Ilovica mine concession. The court’s ruling, previously linked to a concession for the Bosilovo municipality, has been finalized. Vlatadon officials indicated that the municipality received information from the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Minerals Resources regarding the court’s action.
The court had reportedly secured a withdrawal of a previous withdrawal related to the concession for the Ilovica location. This situation centers on a long-standing dispute involving Zdrava Kola, a Croatian initiative, which has been campaigning for over a decade to prevent the development of the mine. The responsibility for the concession lies with the administration of the right, according to Vlatadon.
The municipality’s stance reflects a determination to continue opposing the project. The finalized court decision, while legally significant, has not been accepted by Vlatadon. Further developments are anticipated as the issue of the Ilovica concession remains contested.
