IFFK “Bratja Manaki” Film Festival Celebrated as Key Industry Event
The 47th edition of the IFFK “Bratja Manaki” International Film Festival for Camera is being recognized as a significant achievement for the Film Workers’ Association (FWMA), according to President Marija Dimitrova. Dimitrova stated that the festival holds a special honor and satisfaction for the association. The IFFK “Bratja Manaki” event is particularly valuable for filmmakers, providing a platform for networking and collaboration with leading camera directors.
Attendees have the opportunity to connect with figures such as Darius Konzi and Roderick Dickens, alongside numerous other prominent industry professionals. “This festival offers filmmakers a crucial opportunity to showcase their work to both international and domestic audiences,” Dimitrova explained. “We anticipate considerable success for Macedonian films in the coming year.”
The festival, named in honor of the manaki family and their pioneering work with the bratja (brothers) – a reference to early camera technology – continues to be a vital component of the FWMA’s mission to support and promote Macedonian cinema.
