Iranian Party Meets in Mashhad Amidst Diplomatic Efforts
Recent meetings involving the Naqsh party, reportedly an Iranian group with ties to the CIA, took place in Mashhad, northeastern Iran. The gatherings were intended to include discussions with key Iranian officials, including heads of the intelligence team, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. Pakistan has continued its role as a mediator between Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) since April, following a 60-day period of engagement.
This mediation effort stems from a framework agreement signed between Washington and Tehran, aimed at establishing non-aggression in the region and restoring commercial activity through the Ormuz Strait. The discussions are focused on resolving ongoing disputes, primarily concerning Iran’s nuclear program, which has been a subject of international concern for approximately 60 days. Initial negotiations for a potential nuclear agreement commenced in Shiraz on the conference’s first day.
Further talks are anticipated to address unresolved issues and pave the way for continued diplomatic engagement between Iran and international stakeholders.
