Let the people of Pustec hear and rename the village of Prespa, the place of MAEI

MAEI Proposes Regional Reform for Prespa Area

The Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (MAEI) formally presented a motion to the Special Parliamentary Commission for Administrative and Territorial Reform within the Albanian Assembly on June 20, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. The proposal, presented by party President Vasil Sterjovski, addresses the future of the Prespa region following recent territorial adjustments. The motion advocates for the continued inclusion of the Macedonian national minority within the Prespa region as a component of the local self-government.

Specifically, MAEI is calling for the region to be officially designated as the “Prespa region of Macedonia.”

The document outlines key considerations for the Macedonian national minority’s position within the region, establishing “red lines” and “club lines” in the context of the latest territorial changes. A central demand is that no further territorial modifications occur as part of the ongoing administrative and territorial reform. The proposal was made available for share via multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and email.

The MAEI seeks to ensure stability and the preservation of the region’s existing structure.
