Macedonia Announces Tender for New Express Route Projects
The Republic of Macedonia is undertaking an intensive period of investment in its express route network, following the recent completion of the Kumanovo to Strumica line. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Aleksandar Nikolovski, announced today the launch of a new tender for the construction of a studio supporting the Kočani to Vinița-Delčevo and Ravadinica to Strumica express routes. These projects are central to the country’s development strategy and align with European Union growth plans, incorporating an IPA component.
The Kumanovo to Strumica route is specifically part of the EU’s broader framework. According to Nikolovski, these investments are anticipated to drive significant regional development. Progress has been made with the necessary documentation, and the Ministry expects to commence construction within the next year in collaboration with the European Union.
The completion of expropriation processes in the affected areas has also been finalized, facilitating the project’s advancement. The focus remains on expanding the express route infrastructure across Macedonia, contributing to improved connectivity and economic opportunities.
