Exhibition Commemorates Macedonian Cultural Figure Petar Mazev in Belgrade

Belgrade, Serbia – An exhibition titled “The Saga of the Untouchables” was inaugurated on June 12, 2026, at 9:14 a.m. within the Belgrade Macedonian Cultural Center and MTZ Dvorana. The event celebrates the life and work of Petar Mazev (1927-1993), a prominent Macedonian cultural personality and former student at the Academy of Cultural Professions in Belgrade.

The exhibition showcases ten artworks sourced from the private collection of Mr. Igor Stankovic. The display is intended to run for 30 years, marking the period of Macedonian-Serbian diplomatic relations.

Petar Mazev, a widely recognized figure in Macedonian culture during the latter half of the 20th century, previously held numerous exhibitions across Belgrade’s cultural venues. The initiative was organized by Macedonian Minister of Culture and Information, Petar Popovski. The exhibition’s title, “The Saga of the Untouchables,” reflects Mazev’s significant contribution to Macedonian cultural heritage.
