Macedonian and Bulgarian Historians Release Joint Report, Shaping Textbook Content
Skopje – A joint report produced by the multi-disciplinary expert committee examining historical and artistic research between Bulgaria and North Macedonia was presented in Skopje on June 6, 2026, according to BTA reports. The committee, comprised of Macedonian and Bulgarian historians, concluded their work following an agreement reached in June 2024. The report’s findings will be incorporated into the Macedonian education system.
Specifically, the text of the report will be utilized in the presentation of the Ohrid Archbishopric within the 7th-grade history curriculum. This decision aligns with prior agreements. Furthermore, the Macedonian side of the committee shared the text of a letter drafted in response to a European Parliament call concerning the name of North Macedonia with their Bulgarian counterparts.
