“I WANT TO GO TO CRNA GORA, IF I GET THE PERMISSION FROM THE SERVICE TO NOT TO PASS”

Serbian President Vucic to Proceed Despite Embassy Concerns

Podgorica, Montenegro – Despite warnings from the Serbian embassy, President Aleksandar Vucic has affirmed his intention to travel to the Western Balkans and the E-Caucasus region. The decision follows escalating political tensions and security concerns highlighted by Belgrade officials. The embassy urged Vucic not to undertake the trip alone to Tivat, citing a blocked Montenegrin budget attributed to organized crime, specifically the Kavačina drug clan.

This blockage coincided with a recent incident at Vlatiste Airbase in Montenegro, where military personnel closed airspace for 90 Serbian soldiers. The soldiers were assessing potential risks following concerns regarding their safety, with officials stating they were “at risk of being killed.”

During a press conference, Vucic reiterated his commitment to representing Serbia in the region. He stated that, despite warnings about his personal safety, it is crucial for him to proceed with his planned visit to the E-West Balkan and E-Caucasus.

He emphasized the importance of communicating Serbia’s position and addressing concerns directly. Vucic referenced a letter he received from an information agency, detailing the ongoing issues surrounding the blocked budget, further solidifying his determination to continue with the trip.
